Webinar: Transitional Justice in Yemen & Syria: Opportunities & Challenges between Implementation & Preparation
Justice can’t wait for a ceasefire. Next Tuesday, we are bringing Yemen and Syria into one room to learn from each other when it comes to what accountability can look like while conflict still rages.
Under the SPARK project, DT Institute — together with SAM for Rights and Liberties and the Abductees’ Mothers Association — invites you to this strategic dialogue for practitioners, policymakers, and advocates ready to act before the conflict ends because waiting is a luxury we cannot afford.
We will discuss:
▶ How transitional justice can be proactive, not just reactive, even amid conflict.
▶ Lessons from Syria and Yemen on preparation, sequencing, and mobilizing political will.
▶ Centering victims: ensuring recognition, reparations, and social legitimacy now.
▶ Strengthening civil society and institutional partnerships to sustain justice efforts during crises.
Join us live on Zoom on February 17, 4:00 – 5:30 pm Damascus / Sanaa time, with simultaneous interpretation: https://us02web.zoom.us/j/83908002555
