2025 DT Institute Annual Report

DT Institute is responding to this critical moment by equipping communities with the tools, expertise, and flexible funding they need to turn entrenched challenges into opportunities for lasting change. Throughout 2025, we deployed a targeted portfolio of programs spanning Independent Media & Digital Information Ecosystems; Conflict Transformation & Peacebuilding; and Advocacy & Civic Engagement to support civil society organizations, governmental institutions, human rights defenders, and citizens working to build more open, informed, and peaceful societies.

This year, our efforts delivered tangible hope against a backdrop of complex global shifts. We supported reconciliation and early-warning systems in Sudan, advanced justice and accountability efforts in Yemen and Syria, and strengthened resilient communities in Myanmar. At the same time, media and digital initiatives empowered over three million people to access credible information in Afghanistan, Algeria, Belarus, Iran, Myanmar, Russia, and Turkey. Through our philanthropic partnerships, we also provided tailored support to local leadership responding to emerging challenges and opportunities where traditional funding models often fall short.
